Personal Philosophy of Education

“Education is the most powerful weapon which you can use to change the world.”

Nelson Mandela

The general purpose of education is to give everyone an opportunity as a means to succeed in life by providing the perfect place for critical thinking and for personal opinions to develop.Society would collapse if people did not go to school to become educated. Not one person would be smart enough to sit in a leading position and know how to make the correct decisions. Education is defined as "the act of acquiring general knowledge, developing the powers of reasoning and judgment, and preparing oneself intellectually for a mature life."

Education is to instill in our life skills. Education gives us  skills to be productive people. Without an education we would not be able to have the knowledge or  know how to be a productive nation. We give people an education so that our doctors and scientist can come up with cures and diseases can be treated. Without education, we would not be where we are today.

A teacher's role in achieving an education is a very important role. Teachers are facilitators; they provoke the student into wanting to learn. Teachers have the knowledge and they provide the atmosphere, which enhances the student's desire to learn. Teacher's shape the minds of our children and provide an education to our future leaders. The  role of the student in education is the center role. There is not a need for education if you do not  have a student. A student is the whole reason we have education they are the main point that education is centered around.
